Custom Attributes

The Custom Attributes page enables you to create personalized methods to code documents that are available on the Custom tab of the Attributes section of the Coding pane in Review.

In creating an attribute, create a custom category, then create its custom attributes.

With the Custom Attribute page, you can:

  1. Add and edit a custom category.
  2. Add and edit and delete a custom attribute.
  3. View and remove documents associated with a custom attribute.

To view the Custom Attributes page

  1. Click Review > Admin > Custom Attributes.

To add a custom category

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the Custom Attributes menu bar, click .
    • In the Custom Attributes list, click an Action icon and select Add Custom Category.
  2. On the Add Custom Category dialog box, enter a Name for the new topic.
  3. Select Add as Category to create new attributes for a category and complete the following:
    • Name: Enter the name of the category as it will appear in the Coding pane of the Document Viewer.
    • Privacy: Select the level of privacy, either Public, Firm, or User.
    • Selection Type (if available): Select Multiple Selection or Single Selection.
  4. Click Add.

To edit a category

  1. In the Custom Attributes list, locate the custom category you want to edit, click its Action icon and select Edit.
  2. On the Edit Category window, update the Name, Privacy, and Selection Type accordingly.
  3. Click Save.

To add an attribute to a custom category

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the Custom Attributes menu bar, click .
    • In the Custom Attributes list, click an Action icon and select Add Custom Category.
    • In the Custom Attributes list, locate the custom category receiving the attribute, click its Action icon and select Add Attribute.
  2. On the Add Custom Category dialog box, enter Name for the new topic.
  3. Clear Add as Category to create a new category and complete the following:
    • Category: Select the category the attribute is associated with
    • Name: Enter the name of the attribute as it will appear in the Coding pane of the Document Viewer.
    • Privacy: Select the level of privacy, either Public, Firm, or User.
  4. Click Add.

To view the documents associated with an attribute

  1. In the Custom Attributes list, locate the attribute, click its Action icon and select View Documents.
  2. View the Document List of documents with this custom attribute..

To remove documents from an attribute

  1. In the Custom Attributes list, locate the attribute with the documents you want removed, click its Action icon and select Clear.
  2. On the Clear Confirmation window, click Ok.

To delete an attribute

  1. In the Custom Attributes list, locate the attribute you want removed, click its Action icon and select Delete.
  2. On the Delete Confirmation window, click Ok.
